Alison graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from California State University, Fullerton. While pursuing undergraduate studies, she worked as an after-school public speaking/acting instructor and a private tutor. Alison then made the move to Austin and entered the Communication Sciences and Disorders Master of Arts program at the University of Texas at Austin. During this time, she worked as an optometric vision therapist for a developmental optometrist and as a research assistant in the Brain Development Lab at UT, specifically contributing to the Early Language Project. Alison has extensive experience working with children with a variety of speech and language disorders, including but not limited to autism, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and learning disabilities. In the time she is not at work, Alison enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring Austin’s coffee scene, reading, and hiking.
