April received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. She spent a year working in Applied Behavioral Analysis before receiving her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has experience working with children with a variety of diagnosis’s including: Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorders, Down Syndrome, and developmental delays in gross and fine motor skills. April also has experience helping children overcome deficits in visual perceptual skills, self-care skills, social skills, and play skills. She has worked in outpatient clinics, schools, home health, and a special needs preschool.
April has a strong passion for continuing her education in order to stay up-to-date on the most current therapeutic methods, ensuring her clients are receiving the best possible treatment. She has experience utilizing therapeutic protocols such as Wilbarger Brushing, Handwriting Without Tears, Therapeutic Listening, and the Astronaut Training: A sound Activated Vestibular-Visual Protocol. In her spare time April enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, and spending time with her family, friends, and her giant dog Hank.
