Shay McMinn

Speech, Language and Feeding Therapist

When treating speech, language and feeding disorders, Shay feels it is essential to look at the whole child and how dynamic systems work together. She has a passion for working in collaboration with a patient’s medical team-Gastroenterology, Otolaryngology, Occupational and Physical Therapy and Nutrition to best meet the child’s needs. Shay received her Master of Arts Degree in Communicative Disorders at San Diego State University in 1997. In the last 16 years, Shay has become a feeding specialist, working with children who have organic, sensory and behavioral feeding disorders. She has experience treating children 0-12 with Failure to Thrive, Autism, oral aversion and complex medical issues. Shay has extensive training with early infant feeding skills, transition of children from g-tube to oral feeders, and rehabilitative programs for problem feeders. She has worked with patients in their home setting, providing Early Intervention and home health services and is excited to carry these skills into the clinic setting. Shay is driven to provide therapeutic techniques and strategies that can be realistically and successfully carried over in the home to create mealtime success.
