Occupational Therapist

Kirsten was born and raised in Massachusetts. She attended the University of New Hampshire where she received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Science and then a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Kirsten completed a fieldwork rotation in an outpatient pediatric clinic in Florida where she evaluated and provided skilled treatment to children with Autism, Down Syndrome, developmental delay, and sensory processing disorder under the guidance of experienced therapists. She met her husband in Florida and together they relocated to Austin about two years ago. Kirsten has experience working with adults in acute and long term care hospitals. She has worked in home health pediatrics, where she treated many infants who were recently discharged home from the NICU, working closely with families to provide education and treatment that would help facilitate growth and development. She enjoys utilizing sensory integration strategies to help children overcome difficulties with sensory processing and self-regulation. She also enjoys helping children improve in areas of self-care, play, handwriting, and social skills in order to better function at home, school, and in their communities. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga, playing tennis, paddle boarding, traveling, spending time with her husband, family and friends, and working on home improvement projects.
